Seasonal Summer Positions

2026 Program Staff

Spend your summer on the James River helping kids grow through adventure. As Program Staff, you’ll teach activities like boating, aquatics, archery, nature, arts, or athletics while leading camp programs, supporting teen counselors, and creating unforgettable experiences. Leadership roles are also available within Program Staff, including Aquatics Coordinator and Creative Arts Coordinator. Staff have the opportunity to receive training in specialties such as American Red Cross Lifeguard, Waterfront Lifeguard, USA Canoeing and Kayaking Instructor, and 4-H Level 1 or Rifle Instructor certifications.

2026 Camp Nurse

The Camp Nurse plays a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of campers and staff. Reporting to the Center Executive Director, the Camp Nurse manages the Health Clinic, provides care for injuries and illnesses, implements health protocols, and supervises first aid and sanitation throughout camp. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, mission-driven environment while supporting children, teens, and adults in a safe and nurturing setting.

Qualifications: RN or LPN licensed in Virginia, CPR and First Aid certified, experience in pediatric and adult care, valid driver’s license, and a passion for working with youth.
